Primary Function:

Under the direction of the Construction Manager, Superintendent is responsible for overall construction management on job site, as well as being part of the labor force that completes work. This includes layout for all phases of construction, coordination of subcontractors, and interior finish work. Ensures jobs are completed on time, on budget, according to original scope, and that all communications necessary to deliver on this goal are executed in a timely and professional manner.

Major Responsibilities:

1. 1. Coordinate Subcontractors to complete work within a scheduled time frame
2. 2. Manage labor onsite, daily tasks and production
3. 3. Coordinate supplies, tools, and equipment being onsite when needed
4. Meet overall Job Schedule and complete two week look-ahead weekly
5. Communicate with construction coordinator about schedule and open options/change orders

1. Complete daily MarkSystems updates, field-correction tags, safety meetings, and injury reports

Skills & Experience:

• Experience with managing and controlling labor costs and production efficiency
• Experience managing jobs according to a specific schedule – able to follow and use a gantt chart, and job schedule
• Demonstrated ability to perform excellent workmanship
• Able to understand the scope of work and the requirement of the subcontractor
• Prefer 3-5 years of supervision experience within the residential market, and 3-5 years construction experience
• Ability to competently and accurately read and interpret blueprints
• Be familiar with OSHA regulations and UBC regulations
• Be capable of heavy lifting (50-100 lbs)
• Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

• High school diploma
• Must have strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• Must have a complete grasp of English language. Spanish an asset
• Journeyman card, fall protection, and forklift training as well as first aid and CPR training would be an asset.
